The research group has started in 1999. The first research project was a computer based train control system for operational train control which is in commercial operation since many years.
During the past years many different topics in the field of automation of railway processes and in the field of telematics with the focus on public transport have been investigated. Actual topics of research are autonomously driving trains on regional lines with open track access.
