Our focus at Center for Low-Emission Transport in the area Railways:
- Vibration and Structural Dynamics for the digital railway system of the future
- Acoustics and Noise Abatement, testing of noise barriers
- New Premium Light Metal Alloys and Sustainable Light Metal Processing for lightweight railcar bodies and interior (e.g. seats)
- Material Modelling and Crash Simulation, Joining Technology and Multi-Material Construction and Structural Optimization, Topology Optimization & Prototyping for lightweight structures in modern railcars
- New Battery Technologies and advanced Propulsion Technologies for electric vehicles e.g. smaller locomotives, railcars, tramway and underground railway
